BowArk Energy is developing the 94 MW Queenstown Power plant located approximately 1 ½ hours to the South East of Calgary in the vicinity of Queenstown, Alberta. This plant will feature 5 Wartsila 18.76 MW gas fired reciprocating engines to provide energy and ancillary products to the Alberta merchant market. Construction of the facility is expected to begin in Summer of 2016 with the power plant delivering electricity to the Alberta Grid by the end of 2018. BowArk energy has been responsible for all aspects of the development of the Queenstown project including: environmental baseline studies and air modeling, engineering design, and equipment procurement. BowArk Energy will own and operate the Queenstown Power Plant.

Drywood Power Plant

The Drywood Power Plant is a 6 MW gas fired peaking plant located in the vicinity of Pincher Creek Alberta. Sited on the old Gulf refinery location, this 6 MW peaker was originally owned by Canadian Hydro Developers. BowArk Energy acquired the site in 2007 and began a major overhaul on the units to prepare them to participate in the Alberta merchant energy and ancillary market. The Drywood power plant is now an active participant in the Alberta market and is owned by BowArk Energy and Palmer Ranch Limited. The power plant is operated by BowArk Energy.
