BowArk Energy and partner Pattern Energy Group are proud to present the St. Joseph Wind Energy Project. The Project, located in the RMs of Montcalm and Rhineland, was submitted in 2007 to Manitoba Hydro Request for Proposals for the purchase of up to 300 MW of wind generated electricity. After having shortlisted 10 proponents in December 2007, Manitoba Hydro announced that “initial discussions will concentrate on proposals submitted by St. Joseph Wind Farms Inc.”.  On March 22, 2010, Manitoba Hydro announced that a power purchase agreement with St. Joseph Wind Farm Inc. has been executed with construction to begin immediately.  The press release for this announcement can be found here.

The St. Joseph Wind Farm will be located approximately 80km south of Winnipeg on highway 75.  The wind farm will feature 60 Siemens 2.3 MW machines for a total nameplate capacity of 138 MW.  Construction is slated to start in April 2010, with commercial operation to be achieved by the end of the year.
