Pattern Energy Group are proud to present the St. Joseph Wind Energy Project. The Project, located in the RMs of Montcalm and Rhineland, was submitted in 2007 to Manitoba Hydro Request for Proposals for the purchase of up to 300 MW of wind generated electricity. After having shortlisted 10 proponents in December 2007, Manitoba Hydro announced that “initial discussions will concentrate on proposals submitted by St. Joseph Wind Farms Inc.”.
On March 22, 2010, Manitoba Hydro announced that a power
purchase agreement with St. Joseph Wind Farm Inc. has been
executed with construction to begin immediately. The

The St. Joseph Wind Farm will be located approximately
80km south of Winnipeg on highway 75. The wind farm
will feature 60 Siemens 2.3 MW machines for a total
nameplate capacity of 138 MW. Construction is slated
to start in April 2010, with commercial operation to be
achieved by the end of the year.

- Proposed installed capacity of 138 MW
- Enough capacity to provide electricity for
apprximately 50,000 households
- More than 250 landowners involved with over 44,000 Acres
Project Footprint :
- Less than 1 ha per turbine during construction (maximum total of 47 ha)
- 600 to 750 m2 per turbine during operation (maximum total of 4.2 ha)
- 25 km of new access roads,
- Existing roads to be improved
